General Hiking Trail Resources

There are a number of websites that can be used to locate trails in Connecticut, Massachusetts and beyond.  Some are apps that can help you find trails in a particular area, others are websites for a state or non-profit that covers more area than one particular town.

Apps - use these to find hikes in a particular area and to create a GPS track of where you hike.  There are many others, but these are a few I am familiar with.

Gaia GPS - the one I currently use.  It also includes dashed lines to show you the trail as you hike, which is helpful if you feel you have gone off course.

OpenStreetMap - this is another resource I use to look at trails before I head out.
